Arboleda is in quite an advantaged spot with a relatively rare transition of mountains and river to coast, delta and beach in Tarragona, the most southern of the Catalan provinces. The lodges are close to Sant Carles de la Rąpita, which is a Mediterranean coastal town set on a bay at the southern tip of Catalonia on the river Ebro delta.

The Alfacs bay is the largest natural port in Europe and one of the most popular boating resorts on the Mediterranean as it is nearly enclosed by a long sand spit which acts as a natural breakwater.

The Ebro River is Spain’s biggest and its delta is of considerable environmental significance and most of it is a protected nature reserve. It’s a stop-off point for many thousands of migrating birds and is the habitat of nearly 300 different bird species.

Inland there places such as the medieval city of Tortosa and an abundance of other towns with a great personality and historical interest.
